YES!! I got straight A !!!
整個學期我最擔心的那堂策略管理
討厭的策略遊戲....不知道在寫啥的Final Paper...每個星期日的Meeting
比起寫不完心得的MCS...這堂課真的給我很大的壓力..
結果今天上網看成績.....阿三給我A !!!!
天啊!!!!!!
我就這樣一個人跟白癡一樣在電腦前大笑
YES!
Finally....I got GPA 4.0.
I am so proud of myself.

Thanks!!!! :)

congratulations. see, I guess all that worrying about strategic simulation was for nothing. :) At the end of the quarter, it's not whether you got first place in the game, but whether you really learn and adjusted your strategy to meet a changing competitive environment. enjoy your post MBA career. what will you be doing? financial services (private equity, i-banking, hedge funds, consulting), or manufacturing (operations), or sales/marketing? I am doing my post MBA career in asset management/private equity. Pre-MBA, I was a PhD research scientist for a medium sized biotech firm.
Sean, Thank you so much. I really have no idea why I can get A for this course. The game was still important. Probably too many students complained about the evaluation process, so the professor changed it. Anyway..I am happy that I got straight A..haha.. I want to do investment banking. :) But I don't have any related experience in this field. I am not sure if I can find one. If I have any good news, I will tell you. :) BTW..I am really glad that you read my blogs and gave me advisements. I learned a lot from those suggestions. Thank you so much!! :)
re: I-banking. It's not a good field right now. It was when I first got out of MBA. But now, with the CDO and the subprime stuff, I-banks are cutting people. Besides Bears, I think Lehman, Merrill, Goldman and Morgan Stanley have all had to lay off part of its investment banking arm. Funny thing is that the brokerage arm were all left intact, except Bears. So, now, it's not a good time to join i-banking. In the US, you would need to go to New York to get the best I-banking jobs. LA, SF, Chicago, Dallas/Houston all have good number of boutique firms. but none can top NYC. If you are really interested in the field, even if you don't have experience, start applying as an analyst, as long as you are good with finance (that you have taken and have done well in your corporate financing classes). Hours are going to be long, but mostly worth it. If you are going back to Taiwan, then I don't know. I do not know much about i-banks in Taiwan. Re: reading your blog. You probably don't remember me, but I had correspondence with you from your Yahoo (Kimo) days. I was reading your blog as a single person who was on Kimo. I typed "Anderson School" and searched, and your profile came up. Apparently you had it in your intro that you were coming to Anderson long time ago. Then, I found out you graduated from NTU. I had spent a summer teaching and researching at NTU Biochem dept. That was when Academia Sinica's biochem was still in NTU, located next to "girl's 9th dormitory" at NTU. Now, I am married to a wonderful woman, a father of two kids, and read your blog (and other blogs, mostly related to real estate and investments) at the end of the day when the kids are sleeping. Both my wife and I are in finance (both in asset management/private equity). Much more lucrative than research. My wife and I have been married for 3 years, and I've read your blog since 2004 or so.
wow...I really don't remember that. Haha.. I closed Yahoo few years ago, but reopen it recently. It is amazing that you know me by that way. However, I was suprise that you said you keyed in "anderson school" and then you found me. I totally don't remember this part. Haha... It is really nice to see you have a wonderful family. I want to take a new challenge in different fields. That's why I studies MBA now. If I can't do somethinf new, the reason why I came here will disappear. Thank you for your advisement. I will try as an analyst first in Taiwan. (I won't stay here to find a job.) Keep in touch. I really appreciate what you've told me this semester. :)
